Aquarian New Moon, a sign of the times
In my last article, I wrote about Saturn and Jupiter entering Aquarius and being conjunct the Sun on the 29th of January 2021. Many Astrologers regarded that as the portal into the Aquarian Age.
As we enter into this New Age with its new paradigms, concurrent with the falling apart of the old world; the transition between two Ages is showing up to be paradoxical, exciting and frightening for many.
Two realities as reflected by Uranus (the ruler of Aquarius) with its innovative, progressive inventive unorthodoxy in Taurus, the sign which describes the physical realities of being in a body, living on the earth and the realities of that.
This dualistic picture is enhanced by Saturn now in Aquarius as well, revealing the same dichotomy of the physical world with all its limitations (Saturn) and the world of ideas and concepts as described by Aquarius.
We have a ‘double-wammy’!
And right now this stellium in Aquarius:
Sun, Moon, Pallas (asteroid), Mercury, Venus Jupiter and Saturn, all in Aquarius!
The last time anything got even close to this was in November 1962.
Black Moon Lillith, Mars and Uranus are in Taurus squaring all of the planets and points in Aquarius, if not directly then by association. This is a powerful dynamic, and all in Fixed signs. And so that is why we are seeing so much stubborn intractability and the digging in of heels. It also emphasises the dichotomy from the previous paragraphs. The Fixed signs are tenacious and focussed which makes the stubborn fixity even more intense.
In the chart from 1962 we don’t have this dynamic square between Aquarius and Taurus, but we do have Neptune squaring the Aquarian planets in Scorpio. And this was the beginning of the idealistic hippie era with its gaze being on Love and Peace, Oneness and community living.
There were also challenges to the status quo and authority figures. There were huge demonstrations out in force against the Vietnam war and around half a million people marched in Paris in the first protest movement of its kind against the Algerian war. There were demands for Civil Rights, Social Justice and sexual equality manifesting in Women’s Rights and Gay liberation. There were also great advances in technology and the beginnings of travel in space. The Sixties were also abundantly rich in culture and new art forms.
1962 was also a time of Spiritual awakening on many levels.
Even though we are in a very different era now many parallels can be drawn.
We have massive marches and demonstrations against authoritarian regimes; the people demanding more action on Climate Change; Social Justice and equality.
The Aquarian demand for freedom, humanitarianism, and us coming together as a global community, collaborating and searching for a more coherence and a united voice in our battle with the Pandemic and Climate Change. Lately quite a few nations are orbiting Mars with their space craft in an effort to understand more about our place in the Galaxy.
This New Moon is also coinciding with Chinese New Year, which is apparently brings in the Metal Ox, apparently a lucky year, and also a time of disciplined hard work, recovery and consolidation.
On a personal level the New Moon's energy is excellent for dreaming in how you want your life to be. This is augmented by the Earth moving through a photon belt and higher frequencies becoming available for all life forms. Write down, paint, draw, create how your life can be in this age of liberation, with more fairness, humanity, innovation, equity and brotherhood.
In these hugely changing times, our bodies will need extra care as we are being upgraded into the New Aquarian Age. Time and events are moving very fast and self-care is one of the most important ways to get through all of this, make it a priority.
