Aries New Moon ~ 23rd April 2020
The New Moon in Aries has several powerful facets to it.
For one, Saturn has just gone into Aquarius giving a us a glimpse of the changing of our structures and systems which Saturn steadily, and with Pluto’s potent influence by its side; has been testing for the last few years in preparation for the new era we are entering into.
Saturn goes retrograde on May 11th, and only stays in Aquarius until the 2nd of June when it goes back into Capricorn until the 17th of December along with Jupiter.
Saturn in Aquarius I see as the literal beginning of the Aquarian Age, even though we’ve been having a sense of it since the mid-sixties when Uranus and Pluto were in conjunction heralding a revolution in consciousness, the departure of many old world values, and the beginning of the dissolution of the status quo.
The Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn has been bringing the true qualities of all the deeper infra-structures and systems up for us to see in the bleak light of the truth of our existence on Planet Earth.
The Ingress of Saturn and Jupiter into Aquarius in December, seems like finally stepping through the New Age, the doorway into the Aquarian Age.
Aquarius, with its principles of humanity and the intrinsic knowledge that we are all one: the Brotherhood of Mankind in equity and solidarity.
Innovative: the futurists vision of how technology can harness intelligence and science for the good of all. The last time Saturn was in Aquarius was when the world-wide-web was invented in the early nineties.
Another striking thing about this New Moon chart drawn up for Melbourne in South East Australia is that it is a so-called ‘bucket formation’ aka the ‘funnel’ formation which is a tricky formation because the so called handle of the bucket is like the point of control for all the other planets which consist mostly of two Stellium, one in the 6th house and the other in the 4th house. The ‘handle’ in this case is the Ascendant (how we are in our environment), The Path of Fortune (our relationship to the Universe) and the asteroid Juno (atmospheres, the ethers).
The Stellium is a cluster of very powerful energy with all the planets in conjunction to each other. The one in the 4th house is Saturn/Mars/Pluto/ Jupiter and the asteroid Pallas. And we are all confined to our homes and confronted by all the things we’ve been too busy to meet in ourselves and each other. Fortunately we have a kind Venus in Taurus trine to soften this potentially destructive, albeit still very disruptive, Stellium in Capricorn.
Big generational issues will need to be addressed and can be profoundly healed.
The other Stellium in the 6th house is also very important. Here we still have have Chiron and Lilith in conjunction, and conjunct the New Moon and the Vertex in Aries.
The 6th house, is about processes in the body’s systems and also in our work places, as the 6th house rules both. Our health and employment.
These are some of the key issues with COVID-19
We are being asked to bring our vision now to the day-to-day lives of our species on this planet, our Mother Earth, the fully whole feminine, honoured, and empowered so we must focus on bringing balance to our planet. In the elevation of the feminine side, the Goddess we are reminded that bringing love and acceptance to Her as Mother Nature, will bring more harmony and peace to all our lives.
A Tarot reading for where we are now with COVID-19.
I felt that using tarot cards by Barbara Walker was congruent with this New Moon focus on the feminine, as her specialty is ancient women’s sacred myths and symbols.
We are being deeply challenged and tested, and our process is to prioritise what is essential in our lives. This is a huge disruption, The Tower, or as it is called here: ‘The House of God’ reminds us that our fundamental concepts and ideas are as ephemeral as our lives, we are subject to natural forces and can be swept away in a flash of lightening.
